REFLECTION on Product-Oriented Assessment by Desiree Abao

My experience in the conduct of this activity has improved my understanding about the different kinds of assessments that as a teacher might improve more my capacity in assessing my students. during my observation, I have observed that students have their OWN different products. Regardless the fact that they have received and followed the same instruction, they would still come up with their own product. some have submitted well arranged floral design while some have just submitted for compliance purposes only. Their are also some students that you can really see that has done their activity religiously but still end up with a not so well output because errors are very evident.  This are some of the things that made me think that it is not only about performance-oriented assessment and that this is when product-assessment comes in.

I also appreciate the product-oriented assessment in a sense that it does focuses on the process and that you can clearly see if the students was able to grasp the lessons was also able to apply all of those in your activity. with it, the teacher can clearly see the evidence of the knowledge and skills that are learned in the entire instructional process by the students and help them account for their learning by seeing the outcomes. and the product of their academic engagement.

One of the most important lesson I have learned is that it is very important for a teacher to know how to assess students. Because students have diverse learning and that we should find alternatives to equally address all the multiple intelligence's of our students. And that we may also be able to eliminate any different biases that may arise in the classroom because of the diversity of students.
